The Authorities Plan to Add Green Spaces in Master Plan of Punjab Districts

Mr. Ibrahim Murad, Caretaker local government, has asked the relevant civic authorities to define the green spaces in the master plans of Punjab’s districts. He took the initiative to fight the pollution issue and safeguard the province’s agricultural land.

As per the detail, he directed to add/define green areas in 11 districts of Punjab. In a meeting chaired by the Minister, he reviewed the progress on master plans of 11 districts of the province. He stated that no new housing scheme would be allowed to use the green spaces, and strict actions would be taken against those who disobeyed the law.

It is pertinent to mention here that during the meeting, the Project Director of Local Government, Umm Laila, revealed the department is preparing master plans for districts including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Okara, Khanewal, Sialkot, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, Vehari and Sahiwal.
