The Capital Development Authority Islamabad announces to start of expansion work of 7 kilometers Islamabad Expressway portion. The clearing and grubbing work on the construction site from the PWD road to GT Road has already been started.
According to the details, the grubbing and cleaning work started two weeks ago and will be completed in the next couple of weeks. Once the task is completed, FWO – Frontier Works Organization will start construction work on the road.
It is said that FWO is given around six months to complete the expansion work on the busy road, and work on Sohan Bridge and Bindar Bridge will be started after the Expressway task is done.
It is pertinent to note here that Capital Development Authority has accepted a bid of 11 billion PKR by FWO to expand the Islamabad Expressway from 2 to 4 lanes.
