Islamabad: CDA – The Capital Development Authority opened the much-awaited Rawal Dam Underpass for traffic.
The Chairman of Capital Development Authority, Captain (R) Muhammad Usman Younis, advised commuters to utilize the newly opened signal-free underpass while reaching and heading to Park Road via Murree Road.
The underpass is a branch of the Rawal Dam Interchange scheme. The project incorporates the construction of the Rawal Dam Flyover (which connects traffic to and from the Pak Secretariat), several slip roads, an underpass, an overhead bridge, and the Margalla Town Underpass.
The project was expected to be finished earlier this year, but it was postponed since reassigning its contract to Frontier Works Organization (FWO). It also induced the delay partially due to a rise in the cost of construction materials.
