Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority decided to switch off 50% of streetlights in Islamabad under the federal government’s energy conservation plan.
The federal government has devised an ‘Energy Conservation Plan’ to shift from non-renewable energy sources to renewable energy sources like solar energy. The federal government has directed all departments and ministries to solarize their buildings.
Therefore, the CDA has adopted the power conservation policy and issued a notice to turn off half of the road lights. However, residential areas are exempted from the policy.
