Pakistan and Islamic Development Bank – IDB have signed three framework agreements of 180 million dollars for Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project. The contracts were marked in Islamabad on Monday.
Economic Affairs Minister (Omar Ayub Khan) and President of the Islamic Development Bank (Muhammad Al Jasser) attended the signing ceremony.
Regarding the event, the President of the Islamic Development Bank said the bank brings dignity in supporting Pakistan in a strategic project of national significance. He said we are looking ahead to ensure the smooth execution of the project and wish to witness its operation in due time.
Omar Ayub Khan acknowledged the bank’s longstanding and authorized partnership with Pakistan. He said Islamic Development Bank’s financing for Mohmand Dam specifies and enhances Pakistan’s electricity generation and water storage capacity and forms new direct and indirect job opportunities.
