Kahuta-Rawalpindi Dualization Project likely to be revived by NHA-03

NHA has decided to start the project of Kahuta-Rawalpindi Dualization again with a 13.1 billion rupees budget. The two-phase project is around 28.4 km long, and the project will include improvement work on the existing Kahuta-Rawalpindi road from Kaak Pul interchange to Kahuta (on Azad Pattan Road).

According to the details of Project Concept-1 (PC-1), the project will take around one year and two months to complete and will be completely funded by PSDP – Public Sector Development Program.

It is important to note here that National Highway Authority has given the contract for Package –II to SMADB at the same rate decided in 2018, and machinery is sent to the site. On the other hand, the relevant authorities have decided to hire a new contractor for Package-I and invited proposals from construction firms.
