Pakistan to Expand Economic and Trade links with all member countries of EU

BUCHAREST, Romania : Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Sunday that Pakistan’s strategic engagement with the European Union had progressed to the next level, and that Pakistan is committed to strengthening ties with European nations.

According to the Foreign Minister, Pakistan’s strategic engagement with the European Union has progressed to the next level.

Pakistan, he said, is a developing market with a population of more than 200 million people that offers tremendous investment potential.

Members of Romania’s parliament and the European Parliament have also voiced a wish to strengthen commercial ties with Pakistan.

Later, speaking to the Romanian Pakistani community, the Foreign Minister stated that abroad Pakistanis had been granted voting rights and may now participate in the country’s policymaking.

Pakistan is concentrating on growing exports to European markets, he added.

He said overseas Pakistanis had opened 300,000 digital accounts and sent $3 billion through them in a short time.
