Pakistan’s First Eco-friendly Plastic Road to Open Soon in Islamabad

The Captial Development Authority in collaboration with other private companies would soon complete the construction of a first-ever eco-friendly one-kilometer plastic road in F-9 Park Islamabad. The road is one-kilo meters long and it contains recycled plastic that is equivalent to more than one million plastic cups.

It represents an initiative that is taken towards a better sustainable life that Pakistan needs where the traditional asphalt roads need to be changed to future-proof plastic roads. Around 500 to 600 tonnes of municipal waste is collected in Islamabad daily along with 150 to 200 tonnes of plastic waste. The trial project at F-9 park will also be replicated in other cities of the country and on the major roads of the capital.
