PM Sets $5b Target of Pak-Turkey Bilateral Trade in Coming Three Years

Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has instructed the business community of Pakistan and Turkey to bring the bilateral trade to the five billion-dollar mark within the coming three years.

Addressing a dinner hosted in his honor by President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, Rifat Hisarciklioglu in Ankara, he confirmed his government’s all-out asset in this regard.

The Prime Minister stated that, unfortunately, the historic friendship between Pakistan and Turkey does not reflect in the bilateral trade, which now stands at 1.1 billion dollars.

He expressed the government has done away with all the conditions in the business sector, encouraging Turkish investors to fund their capital in numerous sectors like farming, IT, dairy, textile, and many other domains.

The Prime Minister also thanked the Turkish people and the administration for helping Pakistan during the earthquake and floods, besides showing its unwavering help for the Kashmir cause. He also restated Pakistan’s perspective to support Turkey on the Cyprus problem.

A smartly turned-out delegation of the Turkish Army showed a salute to him. The Prime Minister along with a high-level delegation is on a three-day official visit to Turkey.
