Mr. Ali Afzal Shah, the Punjab Minister of Communication & Works, has ordered the relevant departments of Punjab to finish the road development project promptly.
All concerned departments were instructed to establish and share the time limit of existing and new projects. Therefore, the government said they would audit the projects, and contractors would be considered responsible for delays. He also stressed taking strict actions against contractors delaying projects and directed them to seize the machinery and hold security deposits for the delays.
Mr. Ali Afzal Shah urged the concerned authorities to monitor and observe road infrastructure development initiatives keenly. It is pertinent to note here that the government has established a new methodology for monitoring and grading road development projects, including inspecting teams before releasing funds.
