RCB directed to form committee to resolve encroachment and property tax issues

Rawalpindi: Station Commander Brig. Salman Nazar directed RCB to set up a committee to solve issues regarding property tax and encroachments.

He issued the directive while presiding over a meeting. He remarked that the committee would be established under the Cantonment Act 1924 to resolve property tax issues. The station commander also encouraged the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) to put forward suggestions under the policy. He added that he would personally supervise the committee’s efficiency.

The committee will coordinate with cantonment traders. Brig. Nazar stated that the committee will ensure the provision of civic infrastructure and address issues concerning the maintenance of roads, construction, street lights, sanitation, and property taxes.

Regarding encroachments, Nazar clearly stated that the enforcement cell had been instructed to initiate an anti-encroachment operation, and a zero-tolerance policy (ZTP) would be implemented.

Traders raised the prevailing issues of Tench Bhatta in the meeting. The station commander directed the RCB to report him after visiting the area. Besides RCB Cantonment Executive Officer Imran Gulzar, other senior officials were also present in the meeting.
