Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority is likely to resume the stalled project of the underpass to make Murree Road signal free. The initiative is taken to improve the traffic flow in the city.
The Rawalpindi Development Authority’s senior official said that the civic body spent a massive amount of 11 million PKR five years back to conduct a feasibility study and determine whether to build a flyover or underpass at Liaqat Bagh Square. After it, the project was dropped in 2018.
RDA has once again paid attention to the project and forwarded it to the provincial government so it can be added to ADP’s budget in the coming fiscal year. According to the new plan, the Authority will construct an underpass on the road from Saddar to Faizabad & provide a link road from Liaqat Bagh to Fawara Chowk.
