Skardu: Imran Khan has inaugurated the Skardu International Airport and Jaglot-Skardu road during a day-long visit to Gilgit-Baltistan. In a large crowd of PTI supporters and residents at the Municipal Stadium in Skardu, IK says Skardu airport will promote international tourism in GB – Gilgit-Baltistan. The Skardu airport was formerly only operational for domestic flying’s. However, it was upgraded on December 2 as welcoming international flights.
Moreover, he said, “No country in the world can progress without developing its remote areas.” His government is concentrated on developing GB like other remote areas of Pakistan. He told the importance of this Airport in these words ‘I cannot tell you how your lives are about to change with the help of this facility. You cannot perceive it right now, but I can.’
Saying about the beauty of GB, he said, ‘I have traveled far and wide around the world, but no place in the world is as beautiful as Gilgit-Baltistan.’
He also ensured citizens that the PTI provides connectivity of Skardu to other parts of the country so that the possibility of local tourism can also be exploited comprehensively.
