Gwadar: Turkey and Saudi Arabia have shown keen interest in investing in the Gwadar Free Zone to establish warehouses.

Gwadar is rapidly rising as the ‘center of focus’ because of enormous business opportunities. Several foreign diplomates visited Gwadar recently to explore the viability of individual and joint ventures. In a significant development, Turkish and Saudi delegations are mulling substantial investments in the Gwadar Free Zone with tax holidays. The delegation urged establishing warehouses in Gwadar Free Zone, calling it lucrative and commercially productive.

The delegation was briefed about the services and amenities, including modern inventory solutions. According to a Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) official, “The key industries suited Gwadar include port-centered service industries such as fishery, petrochemical industry, tourism, trade logistics and port-centered processing and manufacturing industries such as assembling of oil storage, refining, transport equipment, ship breaking, food & building materials processing, home appliances manufacturing electronics and Information industry.”

Gwadar Free Zone is one of the leading projects of the China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC). Currently, the project offers ten spaces for corporations and industries on long-term leases with special tax incentives.
