UAE president hints at major investment in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: President United Arab Emirates (UAE)  Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan hinted at a massive investment plan in Pakistan. President Al Nahyan came on a state visit to Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the dignitary at the Chandna Airport.

The UAE president and the PM of Pakistan held a bilateral meeting. His Highness Al Nahyan assured PM Shehbaz Sharif that the UAE would always support Pakistan. Furthermore, the former asked Pakistan to be prepared for a substantial investment.

Previously, the UAE agreed to roll over a $2 billion existing loan and lend another $1 billion to Pakistan. The UAE’s financial support and clues to a major investment offered some respite to flood-stricken Pakistan facing economic turmoil.
