World Bank likely to offer 200 million USD loan for Punjab’s Green Development Project

The World Bank will provide a loan worth 200 million USD for the Green Development Project of Punjab.

The Punjab Government will install water and air quality monitoring systems in around ten districts. The districts include Rawalpindi, Vehari, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Multan, DG Khan, Lahore, etc. The plants will be installed at 15 & 30 places according to the plan.

The CM Punjab said a 50 million USD Environment Endowment Fund would be allotted under Green Development Project. The project will include 25 eco-friendly electric buses for Lahore and legislation to control plastic bags. The solar panels will be installed on government buildings rooftops to adopt energy-efficient building plans.
