CDA approved the first Solar-powered metro terminal in Islamabad news

Islamabad: CDA – The Capital Development Authority has approved the construction of the first solar-powered metro bus terminal in Pakistan’s history.

CDA spokesperson said a comprehensive strategy has been developed to provide state-of-the-art public transportation to the residents of the twin cities from Peshawar Mor to the New International Islamabad Airport.

About 70 to 80% of work has already been completed. After completion of this solar-powered metro bus terminal, the route from Peshawar Mor to the New International Islamabad Airport will be functional. It will generate about 100 megawatts of electricity from the panels, which will be connected to the central grid station of WAPDA – Water and Power Development Authority. The WAPDA grid’s power transmission will reach the bus terminals and individual bus stations. People of twin cities consider this as an exemplary effort for the citizens of twin cities (Rawalpindi & Islamabad).
