Karachi: A two-member team from Saudi Arabia visited Jinnah International Airport in Karachi to inspect the airport’s facilities and discuss arrangements for Haj and Umrah pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
The visit of the Saudi team was part of the ‘Road to Makkah Project,’ an initiative by Saudi Arabia aimed at streamlining the immigration process for intending Haj and Umrah pilgrims to the holy land.
Launched by the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah in 2019, the project has been implemented in five countries, including Pakistan.
Upon their arrival at the airport, the Saudi delegation received a warm welcome from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority’s acting airport manager and representatives from other relevant departments and agencies.
During a comprehensive tour of the airport, the Saudi delegation was briefed on the route Haj pilgrims would take from the main entrance to the immigration area.

Key discussions included the allocation of immigration halls and other related issues. Moreover, there was an emphasis on the importance of pilgrims arriving at least five hours before their flight’s departure time to ensure sufficient time for necessary procedures and preparations.
