LDA Implements Swift Reforms for Building Plan Approval Times

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has reduced the time required to approve building plans in private housing schemes and LDA regular schemes.

Building plans can now be approved in just three working days, a significant improvement from the previous waiting period of 30 days. This achievement has been credited to the efforts of DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa.

Mr. Randhawa has also directed officials to simplify the process for the public to obtain building plan approvals and to implement a user-friendly online system.

Officials have made changes to the traditional system to improve public service. Chief Town Planner Azhar Ali has announced that the One Window Cell can perform various tasks, including site reports, plan scrutiny, challan issuance, and building plan approval.

The Lahore Development Authority has upgraded the eKhidmat software, initially developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board, to make it more user-friendly. The software will also provide detailed reports on vacant plots through the Geographic Information System. The generation of challans will be simplified through the SAP system.
