Syed Munawar Shah, the CDA member engineering, announced that the Korang Bridge PWD interchange would be completed by the end of 2022.
Mr. Syed Shah said that the 5-lane highway project is completing fast and will be open for traffic by 31st December 2022. He said that project was delayed due to the pandemic and severe monsoon season, yet it will be completed soon for better traffic flow.
He further stated the project was also delayed due to technical challenges with bridge design on the Railway ML-1 project. However, the engineering team resolved the issue.
It is important to note here that the project was launched in 2020 and is worth billions, and it was due to be complete by mid-2022. However, the project was delayed due to the pandemic and increased construction costs. The project was handed over to FWO, and the interchange is expected to be completed on schedule.
