FDA likely to take over projects to deal with traffic issues

Faisalabad: FDA – Faisalabad Development Authority is taking initiatives to take over two mega projects in the city to deal with the issue of traffic flow.

According to the details, the projects under consideration are expansion of Sheikhupura Road and constructing Flyover at Abdullah Pur-Jhumra Road. The projects are collectively worth 3 Billion PKR. The briefing on the project details was given to Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh by FDA Chief Mehar Ayub.

The DC also visited the project sites to overview the technical and administrative aspects of the projects. Relevant officials accompanied him during the visit.

As per the details of the projects, The Abdullah-Jhumra Road Flyover estimated cost is 1.36 billion, and once completed, the flyover will solve the issue of traffic jams at the Abdullah Pur Overhead Bridge.

Moreover, many mega projects are in the pipeline to solve traffic congestion problems, including the expansion of Sheikhupura Road from Gattwala to Nishatabad Overhead Bridge that will cost around 1.51 billion.
