FGEHA, CDA Ordered to Compensate Landowners in E-14 and G-14 Sectors

FGEHA, CDA Ordered to Compensate Landowners in E-14 and G-14 Sectors

Islamabad: The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Zahid Akram Durrani, has instructed the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to compensate the property owners of sectors G-14 and E-12.

In response to a notice summoning attention filed by MNAs Qadir Mandokhail, Salahuddin, and Mohd Abu Bakar, Deputy Speaker Durrani has decided to instruct both the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to provide compensation to the proprietors of sectors G-14 and E-12. According to Durrani, the expected compensation for both sectors should be based on the current market value of land and homes. FGEHA is responsible for developing the G-14 sector, while CDA is responsible for the E-12 sector.

According to what was discussed during the assembly meeting, it was revealed by Syed Mehmood Shah, Parliamentary Secretary for Housing and Works, that the FGEHA had taken over the G-14 sector back in 2005, and it seemed that a large number of landlords had already received compensation for their properties. However, approximately 25 percent of landlords in one subsector of G-14 posed obstacles by demanding payment at the current market value.

In response, Deputy Speaker emphasized that if the payments were still outstanding, the FGEHA must resolve them at the current market rate. Additionally, Durrani instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to compensate the landlords of sector E-12 based on the current market value of land and homes.
