The APCMA has reported a significant growth in local cement sales during July 2023, with a 47% increase compared to the same period last year. In addition, exports have seen a remarkable surge of 184%, with volumes rising from 153,517 tonnes in July 2022 to 435,853 tonnes in July 2023. These figures demonstrate a solid and positive trend in the cement industry in Pakistan. As a result, total sales reached 3.21 million tonnes, marking a 57% increase from the same month in the previous year.
According to official data, cement mills located in the Northern region of Pakistan recorded a substantial 46.54% surge in cement shipments in July 2023, reaching 2,473 million tonnes. In comparison, mills located in the Southern region shipped 739,376 tonnes of cement during the same period, indicating a noteworthy increase of 109.61% from the 352,747 tonnes shipped in July 2022.
