Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority Development Working Party (CDA-DWP) has recently sanctioned three information technology (IT) projects totaling PKR 220 million.
The approval was granted during a meeting held at CDA headquarters to upgrade and augment IT infrastructure and services in the region.
The first project, titled ‘Deployment of Centrally Managed Wi-Fi System on Turnkey Basis at CDA Headquarters,’ has been assigned a budget of PKR 88.5 million and is slated for completion within 11 months. The project aims to establish a secure and centrally managed Wi-Fi system that provides a reliable communication infrastructure for Internet services, email access, and various software applications. This new system will be a backup to the existing 18-year-old wired communication network, which will be replaced in the second phase.
The second project, ‘E-Empowerment at CDA,’ has been allocated a budget of PKR 99 million and is expected to be completed within 24 months. This initiative encompasses several IT interventions, such as revamping the CDA website, launching e-payment services, implementing One Window Automation, developing a smart app, and introducing other online services. Once implemented, this system will significantly reduce public office visits, streamline service delivery, and enhance efficiency.
The third and final approved project, ‘Online Architectural Drawings System & Digitization of Architectural Drawings,’ has a budget of PKR 33 million and is also expected to be completed within 24 months. This scheme will enable citizens to submit architectural and structural drawings online. Real-time monitoring and digitalization will facilitate the approval process for building plans and no-objection certificates (NOCs), ensuring a more efficient and transparent procedure.
