Chandni Chowk Added to Rawalpindi's Metro Bus Express

Rawalpindi: To enhance public transportation in Rawalpindi, the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMA) has officially added Chandani Chowk Bus Station to its Metro Bus Express route.

The new inclusion aims to provide seamless connectivity for commuters, particularly benefiting patients traveling to Benazir Bhutto Hospital. Initially launched with six stops, the express service links Saddar to the Pakistan Secretariat, and the addition of Chandani Chowk aligns with the PMA’s commitment to optimizing accessibility for the community.

The Metro Bus service has emerged as a time-saving solution for daily commuters between Rawalpindi and Islamabad, offering a significant 20-minute reduction in travel time compared to the regular service, which stops at 24 stations along the route.

In an update, Saif Anwar Jappa, the Director General of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), shared details about the repair work at the 6th Road station. The reconstruction project is expected to cost approximately PKR 99 million and will be completed by January 6, 2023.

DG Jappa outlined the extensive civil works necessary to upgrade the public transportation system in Rawalpindi. This included replacing damaged doors (Emergency Exit), signboards, tempered glass, granite, railing, metal cladding (roofing), vinyl sheet on flooring, rehabilitating the ticket booth, shoot concreting at the burned portion of the slab, and performing paint and plaster works.

These infrastructure upgrades signify a concerted effort to ensure a safe, efficient, and modernized public transportation system for the residents of Rawalpindi. For the latest Real Estate News and Blogs, visit Realtorspk blogs.
