LDA to upgrade nine model roads in Lahore

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to upgrade nine main roadways of Lahore into model roads to tackle encroachments, traffic congestion, and parking issues.

A committee meeting formed on the direction of Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Shahid Karim was held in Lahore. LDA Director General Aamir Ahmad Khan chaired the meeting. The objective of the meeting was to improve the environment of the metropolis city.

The committee decided to upgrade the main roads into model roles. Furthermore, it was also emphasized that the upgradation process will be carried out in phases. The first Phase will transform the main boulevard in Allama Iqbal Town and Johar Town G-1 Road.

A statement issued after the meeting clearly mentioned that building regulations would be implemented strictly. Moreover, no encroachment will be tolerated in the parking areas near hospitals, schools, restaurants, and commercial buildings.

In addition, any violation of regulations in traffic jams, wrong parking, and encroachment will be dealt with with an iron fist.
