KARACHI: According to the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Trade, Pakistanis own bitcoin worth almost $20 billion.
“According to our estimate, Pakistanis hold cryptocurrencies worth $20 billion,” FPCCI President Nasir Hayat Magoon said during a news conference.
He encouraged the government to provide a comprehensive policy so that people may deposit cryptocurrencies in Pakistan rather than Dubai. India, too, has issued cryptocurrency guidelines, according to Magoon.
The FPCCI president told a news conference that the value of the digital currency owned by Pakistanis is based on the chamber’s study report.
