PSDO Sanctions Six Mini Dams in Rawalpindi Division

Rawalpindi: In a significant move, the Punjab Small Dams Organization (PSDO) has approved six mini-dams in Rawalpindi Division, allocating PKR 15 million for construction.

The initiation of the topographic survey, set to conclude in the next two months, signals the imminent commencement of dam construction. Anticipated to kick off by May or June 2024, these dams, spanning Jhelum, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, and Attock Districts, aim to irrigate 20,000 acres, ensuring a vital water supply for Islamabad and Rawalpindi residents. Notably, these mini dams will also incorporate new amusement parks.

Moreover, the approval for a mini dam in Tehsil Kotli Sattian has been granted, enhancing prospects for the recently established Murree District. Situated amidst towering mountain peaks, this area has seen new tourist sites and recreational sports.

The approved mini dams, including Papin Dam, Khori Dam, Ahmad Dal Dam, Sora Dam, and Khor Dam, signify a strategic leap toward bolstering water resources and fostering regional recreational spaces. For the latest Real Estate News and Blogs, visit Realtorspk blogs.
