Sindh to Plant 40,000 Plants in Clifton Urban Forest

Karachi: The Sindh government is going to grow 40,000 plants in the Clifton Urban Forest, located in the Marine Promenade area. The plantation drive will be completed in cooperation with the Standard Chartered Bank (SCB).

According to a statement published by the occupied authorities, the work would assist in reducing the region’s carbon footprint and maintaining biodiversity. Chief Executive Officer of SCB Mr. Rehan Shaikh, said that their organization is concerned with environmental actions as part of their corporate social responsibility initiatives. He also said that Pakistan’s future lies in the establishment of long-term programs strived at combating climate change. Moreover, the industry will have a significant influence on emissions and will help Pakistan in fulfilling its emission targets.

It is worth mentioning that the Clifton Urban Forest was inaugurated by Karachi Administrator Mr. Murtaza Wahab. The forest is being built in association with Sindh Radiant Organization (SRO), a non-governmental organization (NGO), and has been called after Mrs. Deena Mistri in honor of her 60 years of outstanding assistance in the domain of education.
