Islamabad: CDA was urged by head of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari to focus more on development of Islamabad’s commercial District Blue Area to strengthen the economy and facilitate more efficient trade activities.
In a recent meeting, the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry President emphasized the importance of developing the Blue Area, the city’s primary commercial hub. He stated that such development is crucial for driving the economy forward and promoting smoother trade operations. The issue of insufficient parking in the Blue Area was also raised during the meeting. To tackle this problem, the ICCI President suggested allowing parking on the green area of Fazal Haq Road until the construction of a parking plaza is completed.
Several urgent issues impacting market traders were brought to attention by Raja Hassan Akhtar, the President of the Blue Area Traders Welfare Association. Specifically, Akhtar drew attention to the lack of parking facilities, faulty sewer systems, and non-functional streetlights that require the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) immediate attention. Additionally, Akhtar proposed the establishment of a floral market in the Blue Area and stressed the importance of tree pruning. The merchants in attendance expressed their full support for the ICCI and pledged to collaborate closely with the organization to resolve their issues.
