Lahore: Chairman WAPDA Engineer Lt-Gen (R) Sajjad Ghani visited the Diamer Bhasha Dam site and shared the project updates. While sharing the details, he stated that diversion at Diamer Bhasha Dam of the Indus River is likely to be completed in a week.
According to the details, the work on the diversion project has been at a full peak since last week. It is a crucial aspect of construction as significant flow through the canal and diversion tunnel will be allowed for flow through its natural course.
The diversion consists of approx. one long tunnel, a 0.857 km diversion canal, and two covered dams. The dams will be located upstream and downstream of the main dam.
During the visit, the honorable Chairman shared the details of the test run of the diversion system, and he was told that everything was operating smoothly. Moreover, the dam’s construction is under progress at 13 different sites.
