Government Approves Rs.300m to Prevent Flooding in Rawalpindi-Realtorspk

Rawalpindi is granted rupees 300 million for cleaning Leh Nullahs to avoid flooding due to upcoming rains in the city. The news was shared by Mr. Jamal Nasir, the Punjab Caretaker Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare and Population, after meeting Federal Flood Commission Chairman Ahmed Kamal.

The Punjab Minister said that strong actions will be taken against encroachments surrounding the nullah Leh and against those who throw building materials into it. Dr. Nasir stressed cleaning the tributaries of the water bodies and said that the task will be done with WASA, Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC), and Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation.

Additionally, measures are taken to safeguard the city from urban flooding risks, and machines have been deployed in residential areas to drain water. WASA has been provided with sources by other departments to get tasks done. Moreover, new equipment has been provided to increase the efficiency of tasks.
