The visit to Derawar Fort requires an approximately four—hour trip on a four-wheel vehicle (jeep, etc). The Fort stands in the middle of nowhere, miles into the desert of Cholistan. It is 130 Km away from Bahawalpur.

The amazing Fort was built in 1733 and dominated the landscape. The building is distinguished by a distinctive arrangement of 40 substantial bastions, which remain mostly intact, positioned along all four walls. The Fort’s walls tower approximately 30 meters high and encircle an impressive area spanning 1.5 kilometers.

According to Fort’s history, the foundation stone was laid 800 years ago. The Fort was conquered by the Nawabs of Bahawalpur in 1733 AD. After a few years, they lost control of Bahawalpur, but in the 19th century, it was recaptured again by Nawabs. 4. Minar-e-Pakistan:

Minar-e-Pakistan is the famous national monument of Pakistan. The historical structure, also known as the “Tower of Pakistan,” stands tall in Grand Iqbal Park Lahore and is equivalent to patriotism and nationalism in Pakistan. The national monument of Pakistan is the ideal combination of modern and Islamic design and architecture. The tower was designed by renowned Russian-born architect “Nasreddin Murat Khan.” The construction work of Minar-e-Pakistan started in 1960 and ended on 21st October 1968. The project was completed with a cost of around 7, 058, 000.

The minaret’s foundation stands 8 meters above the ground. The majestic structure reaches 62 meters above a base shaped like a star. This adds up to a total elevation of 70 meters from the ground. Its captivating design resembles the graceful unfolding of flower petals. The diameter of Minar-e-Pakistan measures approximately 9.75 meters.

The architecture of the Minar-e-Pakistan symbolizes the freedom struggle. The 1st platform is built with unpolished and uncut stones from Taxila. The platform represents the independence struggle and efforts of Indian Muslims.

The 2nd platform is built with hammer-dressed stones that reflect a rough path and struggle toward freedom.
