PKR 21 Billion funds approval was granted by the Economic Coordination Committee in the latest meeting for “Technical Supplementary Grants (TSGs).”
The grants include PKR 6 billion for the 7th Population and Housing Census and PKR 4 billion for debt payments of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (PIAC).
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar chaired the ECC meeting where the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives approved a PKR 6 billion TSG to fulfill census financial requirements. The Finance Division had already released PKR 22 billion out of the requested PKR 34 billion between fiscal years 2021-22 and 2023-24. An additional PKR 6 billion approval was sought to cover the outgoing fiscal year.
Additionally, the ECC approved various TSGs for ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, the Ministry of Aviation, the Ministry of Housing and Works, and the President’s Secretariat. Other TSGs were approved for the Ministry of Climate Change, Frontier Corps KP (North and South), Ministry of Interior, National Security Division, Ministry of National Health Services and Coordination, and the Pakistan Central Cotton Committee (PCCC).
