LDA and RDA Collaborate on Digital Recordkeeping Plans

Rawalpindi: The delegation of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), led by its Director General Saif Anwar Jappa, visited the offices of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to discuss the digitalization of records and the shift towards soft infrastructure.

The Director General apprised the RDA delegation that the LDA remains committed to implementing novel measures to provide more efficient services. Notably, the LDA has digitized ten schemes and is actively striving to extend this digitalization to the remaining schemes. The underlying objective of these IT-based reforms is to facilitate service delivery for urban residents.

During the briefing, the delegation from the RDA was apprised of the influential models of various signal-free corridors in Lahore. The department’s Director General, Mr. Randhawa, emphasized the successful completion of signal-free corridors, such as those connecting Jinnah Hospital to Peco Road and Nazaria Pakistan Road. These corridors have significantly enhanced the traffic flow in the city.

Implementing U-turns and signal-free corridors was also acknowledged for positively impacting traffic management. These initiatives have contributed to efficient city traffic management, and their successful implementation offers valuable insights for urban planners and policymakers.
