PM Kakar and Chinese Official Reaffirm Joint Efforts for CPEC

Islamabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and highlighted the need for close collaboration between both nations to ensure the timely completion of ongoing projects.

During a formal meeting with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister (FM) Sun Weidong, the Prime Minister expressed his views on the current regional situation and the existing relationship between Pakistan and China. The Prime Minister warmly welcomed the Chinese Vice FM and his delegation, who underscored the significance of the enduring, strategic, and cooperative partnership between both nations.

The Prime Minister reflected on his recent visit to Beijing for the 3rd Belt and Road Forum in October 2023. He expressed his appreciation for the warm sentiments extended by President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang towards Pakistan. Furthermore, he opened his best wishes to the Chinese leadership.

During the meeting between the PM and the Chinese Vice FM, a wide-ranging discussion ensued, encompassing the state of Pakistan-China relations and the broader regional situation. The meeting underscored the crucial significance of maintaining close ties and fostering cooperation between the two nations to advance the collective welfare of the region.

In response, the Chinese Vice FM expressed his appreciation for the courtesy call and provided a comprehensive overview of the many meetings that had taken place during the visit. He relayed the warm greetings of the Chinese leadership to the PM and re-emphasized the deep-rooted and enduring bond between both countries.
