Lahore: During the 3rd Belt and Road Forum, Pakistan and China inked 20 collaborative agreements and a Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs). The agreements cover several aspects of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The 3rd Belt and Road Forum showcased substantial progress in the partnership between China and Pakistan. Key outcomes from the summit included the establishment of pivotal initiatives such as the Beijing Initiative for Deepening Cooperation on Connectivity and the Belt and Road Green Development.
Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren applauded the forum and emphasized the milestones achieved. The forum solidified 20 agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) spanning various sectors, from infrastructure and industry to health and digital development.
The spotlight was on joint efforts to expedite the development of Gwadar Port and the upgrade of the ML-1 railway line, affirming both nations’ commitment to progress.
The ambitious goals set during the forum involve the expansion of joint laboratories in partner countries and providing 100,000 training opportunities in green development. With finalized commercial agreements valued at USD 97.2 billion, the initiative anticipates stimulating economies and creating job opportunities across the Belt and Road nations.
