Punjab has approved the construction of the Southern Loop of Lahore Ring Road

Lahore: The government has approved the authorities to start constructing Southern Loop – 3 (SL-3) of the Lahore Ring Road Project in coming months. According to the details, PC-I of Ring Road SL-3 has been approved by the cabinet with a 17.798 billion PKR budget.

However, it was stated that the funds would be released in the budget under Annual Development Program (ADP). The provincial government has also decided to finance the project; before the decision, the finances were sought to be made under Public Private Partnership – PPP model.

It was briefed that the government had already acquired the land to execute the project and released funds of 4.5 billion to the affected landowners. According to the reports, the government has already completed the mutation procedure, so there will be no hurdles in starting the project. Therefore, the bidding process will start in a short time and selecting the competitive firm is in process.

According to the detail, the LRR project of SL-3 is spread from Adda Plot (Raiwind Road) to Maraka on Multan Road, passing through Bahria Town. The section is eight kilometers long and will consist of a 6-lane dual carriageway. It features 2 interchanges, four service road bridges, seven flyovers and 3 vehicle subways.
