RDA Extends Deadline for Garrison City Master Plan =Realtorspk

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) extended the deadline for consultant Mott Macdonald Pakistan (MMP) to complete the master plan for the garrison city.

During a meeting chaired by Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Ali Chattha, the governing body approved an extension until December 31 for the consultant and endorsed regulations for the 2023 master plan.

MMP started work on the project called “Regional Development Plan for District Rawalpindi and Peri-Urban Structure Plans for Tehsils of Rawalpindi District (excluding Rawalpindi Tehsil)” on December 16, 2020, after winning the contract. The consultancy agreement, worth about PKR 50 million, was supposed to be completed within 12 months.

The project was temporarily halted because of needed clarification about whether the RDA had the authority to create plans for local government areas. However, all issues have been resolved, and all local governments have received instructions to finish their master plans before the year’s end.
