RMC to conduct traffic survey for Rawalpindi Master Plan
Rawalpindi: RMC set to chalk out a plan to complete a traffic survey of the garrison city. The survey will be conducted to evaluate the traffic load for the Rawalpindi master plan.

The contract for the land use plan of the municipality was awarded to Mott Macdonald Pakistan Private Ltd, a renowned consultancy firm. The Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation (RMC) has asked Mott Macdonald Pakistan Private Ltd to carry out a traffic survey of twenty squares and roads in the garrison metropolis.

The survey on transportation and traffic management would play a vital role in the new master plan. A systematic study of the selected locations would facilitate the data collection on public transit and automobiles.

The traffic survey of various intersections, entry points, and exit locations would help assess the traffic load and routes of both intra-city and inter-city commuters. The survey results would also help planning roads, commercialization, and other developmental work.

It is worth mentioning that the work on the Rawalpindi master plan has been started, and the traffic survey and data collection will be the first phase of the master plan.
