Islamabad: Domestic producers have announced a significant hike in steel prices, increasing PKR 7,000 per ton.
Effective January 8, 2024, the updated steel rebar prices range between PKR 262,000 and PKR 270,000/ton. This significant increase reflects a surge from the previous range of PKR 259,000 to PKR 264,000 reported on October 31, 2023.
Analysts highlight potential risks to this recent price adjustment, emphasizing potential disruptions in raw material procurement. Delays in shipment arrivals have significantly contributed to the steep rise in steel rebar prices within the country.
