Islamabad: The National Highway Authority has shared a detailed report on the development of under-construction motorways in Pakistan with the Senate Standing Committee on Communications.
According to the details, Communications Minister Shahid Ashraf Tarar chaired the meeting with Secretary Communications of NHA & Chairman Muhammad Khurram Agha. During the meeting, details of the construction of the Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway and Sialkot-Khairian Motorway were shared.
It was stated that the work on the Sialkot-Kharian Motorway was started in October last year, and till now, 45% of the work has been completed in the handed-over area. It is praise-worthy progress on the construction of the project.
Furthermore, while talking about the Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway project, the revocable Letter of Intent was canceled for the bidder due to their incompetency to deliver the project on time, as they had committed in their bids.
